If you're going to Hollywood, California to see a star, look no further than "Le Sushi" restaurant. This fine restaurant is just 10-15 minutes from NBC Studios and at the heart of Hollywood. They're also in close proximity to Los Angeles and Beverly Hills - less than half an hour drive. But Owner David Bitton didn’t open Le Sushi a year ago to be near “Hollywood.” He did it to attract more Jewish people to Japanese cuisine. By the looks of the crowd, he has accomplished his goal. Framed Japanese artwork along with authentic oriental fans adorn the pink walls giving the restaurant a cozy and intimate ambience.

Many diners choose to sit at the sushi bar as they watch in amazement. The sushi chefs are busy behind the lively bar making sushi and sashimi with great skill and unwavering concentration. Pristine pieces of fish are carefully and artfully plated to make the most delectable presentations. Specialties rolls of the house include Salmon Crunch, Rock ‘n Roll, Secret Garden and Jalapeno special. Grilled tuna with steamed vegetables and spicy salmon tartar with mango salsa are some of their other signature and exotic dishes.

The restaurant also offers many traditional Japanese entrees such as Beef Teriyaki and Sesame Chicken with very reasonably priced lunch and dinner combinations. For dinner, you can order miso soup, salad, steamed rice and an entree for less than $13. If you still have room for dessert, tempura ice cream and chocolate covered raspberry sorbet are definite choices.

As diners leave, they stop at the sushi bar to thank the chefs with a subtle “bow of the head” and the feeling of a fantastic meal. Every week there are many new chef specials, so be sure to stop in regularly. And if you need to pick up any food essentials, the other Bitton brothers, Abraham and Simon, also have a full grocery store just a few steps away from the restaurant, called “Le Market” (818) 763-5223.
